Two Great Attitudes
Many may know this but I was fascinated by this when I first heard this. Gandhi while travelling in train when one shoe slipped on track, he threw the other one, as one slipped and the train moved on, he cannot use that so he threw the other so whoever finds that may use it. And one day when Periyar was on stage speaking, someone from the crowd threw one of the slipper on him. He replied, "Now I will ask them to switch off the lights for a minute, whoever threw this throw the next slipper, one slipper cannot be useful either to you or to me." What a great two attitudes! If I was there, when my shoe was lost, it will rewind from the day I saw it in the store, loved it and the way I bought with much interest and the days I used it with matching dresses :) and only when I have worried enough about that I'll get some good thought like this but Gandhi had the sudden good thought, what a man! And Periyar, if I was slippered I can never even guess my response...
