Deepavali

When I deeply think Deepavali should have been Deepavazhi because if there is a deepam, we will have a way.

I don’t know naragasuran but killing someone cannot be a celebration in India which is famed after love and hospitality even to those who wronged.

Deepavazhi celebration means, not the death of wrongs but to lit a light in the darkness, not the killing of darkness but to make darkness disappear.

We can do this just with any moderned electric light but it is a tradition to lit a clay made lamp with the oil and fire, the things used for destroying, but it tells we can also use it to make a goodness, to disappear darkness and to bring on light around. We must fuel it to maintain that glowing.

Likewise, while living atleast in a year we should be disappearing darkness in someone’s life by ecouraging their spirit or by healing their broken heart and fueling it through love and service.

Tomorrow is such a day of visiting families, friends, neighbours and strangers we don’t do other days and spread our love and light to their darkened world and share sweets to add sweetnesses to their life.

Visit people, be kind and attentive to all, some may have a bad loss happened to them and be unable to celebrate a day, some may be lonely, some may be ignored/rejected, some may be kept far from the societial status.. Heal their lackings by spreading the light and love.

No matter how much this day brings happiness for people like us, who puts on new dresses, decorates our home, fires the best crackers.. but there is a happiness that is more than we can enjoy by doing these things on Deepavazhi, is the happiness of the beggers, because they are the ones who is enerstly waiting for this day, so they can get our old torn dresses, our exceeded disliked sweets from us, which they can never have at any point of other time.

Spread your love and light to all these kinds of people.

And that makes a..
Happy Deepavazhi J
